Mid-Amateur
Mid-Amateur Golf to open to all golfers over the age of 35.
Mid-Amateur Golf is one of the growth areas in the game, with regular tournaments and an IPT
Western Province has been one of the driving forces in Mid-Amateur Golf in the country. Not only have we been running tournaments and championships from 2002, but it was WP that started the South African Mid-Amateur Championships at De Zalze in 2007.
With monthly tournaments and a league just for mid-amateurs, there are over 200 golfers participating regularly.
Western Province have done well in the Mid-Amateur IPTs with a win and three runner-up places in the first four years of the event. The province also produced the first two winners of the SA Mid-Amateur Championships with Cameron Johnston in 2008 and Robbie Oosthuizen in 2009.
With international golf on the way, mid-amateurs have a lot to look forward to.
