Men's Golf
The WPGU aims to be effective custodians of amateur golf in the Western Province, recording and preserving the history, traditions and integrity of the game in the province, but also creating an environment in which the game is accessible to all those who wish to play it.
There are 20 clubs and over 13 000 golfers that are affiliated to the WPGU.
The WPGU runs 8 leagues and a number of championships.
All men's golf in the Western Province fall under the auspices of the WPGU, from the very young in the Junior Golf to the Super Seniors. The WPGU is very proud of its development program which has now moved into partnership with the SAGDB.
Many of the South Africa's best golfers have represented the province including Trevor Immelman and David Frost. Over the last two decades WP has been the most successful team at Premier IPT level despite not having the numbers others do.
As we head into a new decade, with initiatives like the Amateur Tour and a high performance program, WP aim to remain at the forefront of amateur golf in the country.
