| Order of Merit rules : |
| (1) Only Mid-Amateur rounds count for this order of merit.These comprise of Mid-Amateur Series events as well as the WP, Boland and SA Mid-Amateur Championships |
| To qualify for listing, a player must complete at least 50% of mid amateur rounds at any given time. To be on the final Order of Merit a minimum of 8 rounds is required as well as participation in the WP Mid-Amateur Championships |
| (2) The average of the best 80% of the differentials determine a player's position on the order of merit. |
| (3) Stroke differential is determined by the average of a player's score differences to the course rating per round. |
| (4) The course rating is the average of the top 33% net scores for each round of 18 holes. |
| (5) Any 'no return' will be allocated the highest score for the round, unless there is reasonable proof the player discontinued |
| play due to illness or injury. |
| Team selection |
| (1) WPGU representative teams will be selected giving preference to the Order of Merit positions, but not limited thereto. |
| (2) The top 6 available players at the end of the season will be automatic selections into the WP Mid Amateur Inter-provincial Team. |
| (3) In order to be selected, a player must meet the WP Selection Criteria |
| (4) A selected player must commit to the preparation program |
